The Francis Report presents all NHS Trusts with recommendations on a wide range of issues relating to delivering appropriate care to patients. Governance, risk management and board assurance are highlighted as key areas to be addressed. 
 
The challenge for Trusts is how to drive up board governance standards in line with Francis while meeting existing requirements to drive down back-office administration.

The  Francis Report is clear: board governance must be a priority and managed efficiently.  The recent launch of The Healthy NHS Board gives Boards guidance on delivering to these recommendations. 
 
However Boards need effective tools as well as guidance if they are to be most effective in achieving the highest possible standards in board governance.
 
Heath Trusts that have embraced board governance software are already driving up board governance standards.  At the same time the same technology is helping towards reducing back-office administration as required by The Operating Framework 2010 and NHS: 2010-2015.
